Parent Involvement and Volunteerism

Interested in volunteering? We really need parents to help with our league. Just think of the satisfaction you will get from knowing that you are spending quality time with your child during these very important years. We know that most of us lead very busy lives and it is difficult to find time, but it is worth the effort and you will not regret it. Volunteers are needed for the following:

Super Saturday (Contact Dave De Martino @ (586) 610-1289)

Banquet Committee (Contact Sandy Acord @ (586) 226-9356)

Field Maintenance (Contact Rick Hamlin @ (586) 239-8368)

LEAGUE BY-LAWS / RULES / REGULATIONS

Our league rules are taken from the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Rule Book. We have modified some of these rules to help make our league run smoother. Click the following links for a copy of our rule books: 2010 CMGFL By-Laws and Book, 2010 USSSA Ninth Edition Rules Book.

Please note on page 18 of the CMGFL Rule Book under "Special Rules for 10,12,14,18. Rule #25.E.5 should read as " Advancing on an overthrow to a base or to the pitcher does count as a steal".

PARENTS CODE OF ETHICS

We must keep in mind we are an example to our children, both on, and off the softball field. Please remember to control your emotions and actions while the girls are playing ball. If a manager or umpire has to address behavioral actions before, during, or after the game it may result in your child's team forfeiting the game. Arguing or threatening anyone, harassment of an umpire, manager, coaches or players could also result in a forfeit. Inappropriate language is not tolerated in this league and will result in a forfeit. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Scholarships

The CMGFL will be awarding three college scholarships this year in the amount of $250 each for girls who have participated in our league.  We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity.  Click this link for an application form. If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer to help, please call our League Phone Number at (586) 610-3585.
